Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Handsfree (“Handsfree”, “we”, “us”) for use of the Handsfree app and website (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them.

The Service

Handsfree records audio and photos during a site visit and uses automated transcription and AI to generate documents and chat answers from them. Features and limits depend on your plan.

Your account

You must give accurate information, keep your login secure, and be responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 16 and able to enter into this agreement. If you use Handsfree for an organization, you confirm you're authorized to act for it.

Plans, trials and billing

• Paid plans are billed monthly or annually through our payments provider, and renew automatically until cancelled.
• Your first paid plan includes a 7-day free trial. If you don't cancel before it ends, the plan begins and you're billed.
• You can cancel anytime; access continues until the end of the period you've paid for. Payments already made are generally non-refundable except where required by law.
• Each plan includes a set number of sessions and team members. We may change pricing with reasonable notice.

Recording and consent

You are responsible for how you record. Laws on recording conversations and people differ by place, and you agree to obtain any consent and provide any notice required where you operate. Only record audio and take photos that you have the right to capture and process.

Your content

You keep ownership of the audio, photos, documents and other content you put into Handsfree. You grant us the limited rights needed to host, process and display that content so we can provide the Service to you (including sending it to the processors described in our Privacy Policy).

AI-generated output

Documents, summaries and chat answers are generated automatically and may contain mistakes, omissions or inaccuracies. They are drafts to help you, not professional, legal or surveying advice. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting any output before you rely on it, send it to a client, or use it in a report.

Acceptable use

Don't use Handsfree to break the law, infringe others' rights, upload harmful or unlawful content, attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the Service, or resell it without our permission.

Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties (such as Clerk, Convex, Deepgram, Anthropic and Apple). Their availability and terms are outside our control and may affect the Service.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent allowed by law. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that output will be accurate or fit for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Handsfree is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim.

Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms or to protect the Service. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; some terms survive by their nature.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product changes. We'll update the date above and, for significant changes, give notice in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Service means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from them will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Norwegian courts.
